How someone starts texting The Job General
The Job General is invite-only. A builder using The Job General adds a specific phone number (a sub-contractor, a client, a vendor) to one of their own projects. Only once that number has been added does texting that project's number do anything — an unrecognized number's message is held for a human to review, never processed automatically. Nobody is added to this system, or texted first, without a builder using The Job General having actually engaged them on a real project.
What we send: project-update confirmations, occasional clarifying questions when a message is ambiguous (e.g. "which job is this about — 1) Maple St, 2) Fairview?"), and follow-ups a builder chooses to send through the app. We do not send marketing messages.
Message frequency: varies by project activity — typically a handful of messages per week for an active project, none for an inactive one.

Built for how construction actually runs
- No new habits. Everyone on the job keeps texting and emailing the way they already do — the system reads what comes in, it doesn't ask anyone to change how they work.
- Every builder only sees their own jobs. Accounts are invite-only and every project, message, and file is scoped to the builder it belongs to.
- Nothing changes without a human. Anything above a builder-set dollar threshold, or anything ambiguous, is held for a quick confirm — this is a mirror of what's happening on the job, not an autopilot.
